  • From Senate Candidate To Warrior

Alvin Greene from political oddity to footnote in one election cycle.

    From  National Post

Mr. Greene’s campaign, which amounted to an occasional series of awkward media encounters, still managed to bring in almost 30% of the vote on Tuesday — a long way from the 61% of Republican incumbent Jim DeMint, but hardly a pittance. Linda McMahon spent $50-million dollars to get 480,000 Senate votes in Conneticut; Mr. Greene spent about $50-million less than that, give or take a few hundred bucks, and received more than 300,000 votes in South Carolina. He won 10 counties. Maybe a lot of people like comics in those areas.

The fact that should not be forgotten is that this very same Liberal government presided over massive cutbacks in quality to many post secondary institutions. As a result the students are not receiving the same quality of education they once were because universities have had to cut courses and programs in the ever-changing economics of higher education.
    Sandy here and here

    From on campus
Foreign students win while Ontario students get left behind. McGuinty has clearly lost touch,”

“While Ontario families struggle to pay for school, electricity, auto insurance and sales hikes, the McGuinty Government is focussed on paying the tuition of students who don’t even live in this country, let alone this province.”
