  • Rocksolid Proof that the Cultural Left as Contempt for Free Speech

Former Liberal cabinet minister Alan “censorship” Rock was revealed to be at the center of the University of Ottawa,  Coulter controversy earlier this year. It’s clear that the cultural left has contempt for free expression and only believes in free speech , where they have the ability to control it.  Of course, we do not want to hurt any one’s feelings or further disadvantage anymore groups as a result of some one’s expressing an opinion we disagree with. But didn’t you hear the last thing universities are for are to expand one’s mind, as well as ones horizons. The cultural left is fostering a bizarre politically correct version of far left group think within universities . Where a cult of conformity has become the new norm.

Ann Coulter is a mean-spirited, small-minded, foul-mouthed poltroon,” Rock wrote to Houle in a March 18 email. “She is ‘the loud mouth that bespeaks the vacant mind’.”

“She is an ill-informed and deeply offensive shill for a profoundly shallow and ignorant view of the world. She is a malignancy on the body politic. She is a disgrace to the broadcasting industry and a leading example of the dramatic decline in the quality of public discourse in recent times.”

After seeing a copy of the final email to Coulter, Rock praised Houle: “Quel excellent message! Merci et felicitations. I am sure she has never been dressed down so elegantly in her life!”

  • A Liberal Bias In Canadian Media Shocking

Empirical evidence showing liberal bias in Canadian newsrooms is somewhere between ancient news and stating the obvious. Of course, Canadian newsrooms are inherently liberal, just watch one minute of  the CBC or look at the content being taught at most journalism schools. It is as obvious as the day is long that the cultural left has a vice grip on these institutions.

Ryerson University professors Marsha Barber and Ann Rauhala explored the demographic and political leanings of Canada’s television news directors. The results of their survey were published in 2005 in the Canadian Journal of Communication. The researchers found the news directors, the people “with the most direct responsibility for programming the news on any given day,” were more politically and socially liberal than the rest of the Canadian population.

Broken down by network, those working for the CBC were the most left-leaning.

Barber and Rauhala’s findings echo researchers David Pritchard and Florian Sauvageau’s survey results from years earlier. Regarding Canadian TV journalists, they found most felt the news organizations they worked for were “slightly left of centre” when it came to political outlook while they themselves were ideologically more left-leaning than their employers.

  • The Food Police Attack McDonald’s

Fast food and cola wars, I can’t take it anymore. The Progressive Puritans known as the food police have now turned their wrath towards the ” Golden Arches”. Yes the food police want to now outlaw the selling of toys with happy meals. As if selling a toy with a burger is some type of high crime against humanity. A culture of progressive paternalism has arisen where moral crusaders are now not just satisfied on making the world better but in their own image. Nutritional choices should be up to individuals and families, not nannies . The food police  should be told to butt out  they are another form of creeping collectivism that is poisoning  the ideal of individualism. Hell is paved with good intentions and the same can be said about over- regulation. Also, bringing in sweeping changes has the adverse effect of sweeping out the competition. Small and medium-sized businesses can’t compete in  a marketplace that is regulated to death.

You can get a simple plain hamburger with low-fat milk and fresh apple slices, and that’s actually a meal that fits in with dietary guidelines. That’s a reasonable choice,” said Ayoob.
Ultimately, Ayoob said it “becomes a parenting issue of who is in charge. My parents never had any difficulty telling me no.”
