For the first time in almost a decade the opposition Ontario PC party has taken the lead in the public opinion polls. More telling is the numbers of Ontarians who want a change in government has drastically increased.

Ontario Liberals are running scared
Now the numbers might fluctuate in the coming months but if the change numbers keep on climbing that’s good news for Tim Hudak and the Ontario PC party in the provincial election of 2011. I wonder what schemes are the liberal backroom boys cooking up trying to revive the out of gas Liberal government. -
The Liberals Northern roadmap to Nowhere
The far north act is a dead end for everyone involved unless you’re the provincial government who is pushing forward with their progressive protectorate.
Of course the government knows what’s best for you better than you do. Also the economy of the North would be severely impacted by not being able to have certainty in developing natural resources.
The Liberal government has shown that they rather hobble an entire region for political gain than do what’s right for the entire province.

While northerners don’t expect government hand-outs, they also don’t expect intrusive legislation from a remote provincial government in the south.
Yet that’s what’s happening with the Far North Act, which would put half the land north of the 51st parallel out of bounds for development. Worse, the government hasn’t said which 50% of land is off the table.”
Conservative leader Tim Hudak says he will scrap the Far North Act if he becomes premier.
“Basically it will freeze 50% of the land north of the 51st parallel and put enormous obstacles in front of any kind of development project on the rest,” he said.
Developments such as the vast Ring of Fire mineral deposit in northwestern Ontario and the De Beers diamond mine at Attawapiskat would never have been developed if this act had been in place 20 years ago, Hudak said -
McGuinty Cabinet Shuffle Sign of Liberals Sinking Ship
It is widely expected tomorrow that premier Dad Dalton McGuinty will try to plug some leaks in public opinion by shuffling his cabinet. The news is that Minister of the environment John Gerretsen will have to fall on his sword and pay the price for the premiers ill-advised eco-tax. By not listening to the people of Ontario the Premier has unleashed the green rage of Ontarians and had to sacrifice a cabinet minister for political expediency.

There was a damaging ombudsman’s report about the Liberals’ much-maligned local health networks, and wide-spread criticism of a so-called secret law regarding police powers during the G20 summit.
So it’s no surprise Mr. McGuinty wants to shake up the cabinet, and perhaps bring in some new faces.
Former Winnipeg mayor Glenn Murray and former Ottawa mayor Bob Chiarelli both won by-elections for the government earlier this year and are widely considered contenders for cabinet.
Environment Minister John Gerretsen could be forced to take a bullet over the eco- fees fiasco, with one source suggesting John Wilkinson could move over from Revenue after successfully handling the HST.
