  • Off to the Races, Ontario PCs Nominate Marilissa Gosselin

Marilissa Gosselin is the latest candidate nominated for the Ontario PCs for the upcoming provincial election. Leader  Tim Hudak is surrounding himself with a strong slate of candidates to oppose the Ontario Liberals in just over fourteen months from now. Hopefully the PC party of Ontario continues on this trend to build a strong team of  leaders that can bring  a much-needed sea change to Queens Park.

The Conservative leader Tim Hudak relies heavily on her to understand the interests of francophones, “said Gosselin.

By the election of October 2011, Ms. Gosselin will go door to door on a regular basis.

Eastern Ontario has not elected candidates PCs since the withdrawal of political Noble Villeneuve, MP for Stormont-Dundas-Glengarry, in 1999. But that does not worry too Gosselin. After all, voters in the area have twice elected Pierre Lemieux, at the federal level.

  • Ontario Liberal Government Taps Out and Allows UFC into Ontario

Finally the Ontario Liberals have got the sense knocked into them through public pressure and a dose of common sense the UFC is on its way to Ontario. With people jumping for jubilation on hearing the news that mixed martial arts will be heading north of the border. The public should be reminded that Tim Hudak and the Ontario PC party led the way on being the first party to fully support the UFC in Ontario.

As well I would like to think that blogs like this in public pressure had something to do with the government actually for once listening to the people. However in my view this is  just another sign that the Liberals are clearing the deck of contentious issues in time for the 2011 election.

McGuinty has repeatedly said that permitting MMA was not a “priority” with him, and the matches are illegal under the criminal code unless officially sanctioned by the province.

  • Hudak stands up for Ontario patients by speaking out against McGuinty mismanagement of the LIHNs

The Ombudsman has confirmed that Dalton McGuinty’s second term rot has set in deep at the LHINs.  In a time of scarce health care dollars we cannot afford this kind of waste anymore.  That is why, if I am elected Premier, I will eliminate Dalton McGuinty’s bloated LHIN bureaucracies – and reinvest this money into public frontline patient care”.
