Touch ’em all Joe!

Recently the star asked three of the four party leaders what their favorite baseball moments were. Not surprisingly Prime Minister harper chose Joe Carter’s home run in game six of the 1993 World Series as his top baseball memory. On the other hand it turns out that Michael ignatieff is a lifelong Boston Red Sox fan go figure.

But Harper also enjoys baseball — especially when the Jays are in meaningful games.

His favourite game was one for the ages: “When Joe Carter hit his game-winning home run off Mitch Williams to win the 1993 World Series for the Blue Jays.”

Where You Can Find Sun TV News Network

This post was prompted by a comment that I received earlier last week about the accessibility to Sun TV news network. I came across this blog entry by David Akin that provides the clearest answer to where Sun TV news will be on the dial when it launches on April 18.

From David Akin

Update of where you can find us on April 18th:

If you currently receive Sun TV (check local listings), you’ll be able to watch Sun News Network on that channel until August 31. For example, Channel 213 on Bell TV or Channel 15 if you’re on Rogers in Toronto.

More info to come as we get it!

Harper vs. Ignatieff

Today Stephen Harper raised the possibility that he would be open to a one-on-one debate with Liberal leader Michael ignatieff. Of course this won’t happen in our multiparty system  but it’s an interesting hypothetical to ponder. The simple fact of having less participants would increase the possibility of there being a dramatic moment that defines the campaign.

From National Post
“We could also have a debate between Mr. Ignatieff and myself, since, after all, the real choice in this election is a choice between a Conservative government or an Ignatieff-led government that all of these other parties will support.”

Prime Minister Stephen Harper

Everyone talks about the Mulroney Turner face-off in 1984 as the quintessential example where momentum in a campaign can shift on a dime . Although it be nice to see our leaders square off against each other more often, Politics as in life is the art of the possible and you cannot always get what you want.

Family Tax Cut

Prime Minister Harper announced as his first official campaign pledge a tax cut for families that further reduces the burden on Canadians However  this tax cut won’t come in to effect  until the Tories balance the books. Again the prime minister is showing that he is the prudent and responsible choice that we can trust.
