The first-ever film to tell the entire story of the conservative woman in her own words, “Fire from the Heartland” is a powerful statement about America at a crossroads and the women who have awakened to the crisis. With role models such as Clare Boothe Luce, Margaret Thatcher, and Phyllis Schlafly as inspiration, these women are the unintended consequence of the liberal feminist movement.

Tracing the long history of the many conservative women who have been the backbone of this great nation, from the founding mothers of our Republic to today’s “Mama Grizzlies,” this powerful and compelling documentary honors the self-made American woman.

Hudak Distances Ontario PC party From Smitherman Campaign

Tim Hudak leader of the PC party of Ontario on the Toronto mayoral race . As a conservative I’m happy to see the PC party of Ontario distancing themselves from the mismanagement and scandal of the McGuinty/Smitherman Ontario Liberals.

As a voter, I’m looking for somebody who is going to lower taxes for average families, whose going to take on the misguided priorities we currently see at City Hall and fight for investments in things like our roads, transit and safe streets and I think Rob Ford has been tapping into an appetite here in the City of Toronto for people who want to see change and some relief for their pocketbook,”

Tim Hudak leader Ontario PC party.

Dief The Chief

One of the more insightful tributes to our 13th prime minister John Diefenbaker  the first master of mass communication in Canadian politics.

While the 1960 Bill of Rights did not have the entrenched constitutional character of the 1982 Charter of Rights, many key provisions of the Charter were first articulated in the Bill of Rights.More than a decade before official bilingualism, Diefenbaker made government cheques bilingual, and introduced simultaneous translation to the House of Commons. The themes of diversity and empowerment were found in the appointment of the first woman, Ellen Fairclough, to Cabinet. He gave aboriginal Canadians the right to vote without losing their treaty status. When Mulroney campaigned against apartheid in South Africa in the 1980s, using the Commonwealth as his platform, he was taking a page from Dief, a quarter century earlier.Diefenbaker’s appointment of the Hall Commission, led by Saskatchewan Judge Emmett Hall, was a landmark that led directly to medicare. The Glassco Commission reshaped the organization and administration of the federal government. The Bladen Commission led to the Auto Pact.A decade before Pierre Trudeau’s recognition of Red China, Diefenbaker opened the door with wheat sales. And then there was his northern vision, with its Roads to Resources program. Half a century later, Harper has made Arctic sovereignty, sustainable development, and the autonomy of northern peoples a centrepiece of his policy agenda.

A New Conservative Website The Blaze

Glenn Beck without much fanfare,  launched his new conservative website the blaze today. It’s goal is to be a counterpoint to the left-leaning Huffington Post. First, the layout is clean and unencumbered in that way it is a very appealing website that could show some promise. The content of the website is definitely conservative but with Glenn Beck style of populism.

In short, if you like Glenn Beck and his message, you’ll love  this website if you don’t this is not for you. Canadians would find some news value in this website; however,  you have to expect that most of the stories are covered with an American perspective. For this reason much of the content might not connect with Canadian readers.   It will be interesting to see how this website evolves and what it eventually turns into.
