Ontario Liberals are running scared

For the first time in almost a decade the opposition Ontario PC party has taken the lead in the public opinion polls. More telling is the numbers of Ontarians who want a change in government has drastically increased.

Now  the numbers might fluctuate in the coming months but if the change numbers keep on climbing that’s good news for Tim Hudak and the Ontario PC party in the provincial election of 2011. I wonder what schemes are  the liberal backroom boys cooking up trying to revive the out of gas Liberal government.

The Liberals Northern roadmap to Nowhere

The far north act is a dead end for everyone involved unless you’re the provincial government who is pushing forward with their progressive protectorate.

Of course the government knows what’s best for you better than you do. Also the economy of the North would be  severely impacted by not being able to have certainty in developing natural resources.

The Liberal government has shown that they rather hobble an entire region for political gain than do what’s right for the entire province.

While northerners don’t expect government hand-outs, they also don’t expect intrusive legislation from a remote provincial government in the south.

Yet that’s what’s happening with the Far North Act, which would put half the land north of the 51st parallel out of bounds for development. Worse, the government hasn’t said which 50% of land is off the table.”

Conservative leader Tim Hudak says he will scrap the Far North Act if he becomes premier.

“Basically it will freeze 50% of the land north of the 51st parallel and put enormous obstacles in front of any kind of development project on the rest,” he said.

Developments such as the vast Ring of Fire mineral deposit in northwestern Ontario and the De Beers diamond mine at Attawapiskat would never have been developed if this act had been in place 20 years ago, Hudak said

Job Creation Would be Priority for Hudak Government in Northern Ontario

Last Friday Tim Hudak and finance critic Norm Miller visited Northern Ontario laying out their alternate vision for the North. A Hudak government would repeal theFar North Act. unfortunately the passage of this act would be a step back in time for the North for the sake of agendas emanating from Queens Park.
Another example of the downtown Toronto limousine liberals trying to impose their progressive protectorate and disregarding local concerns. In fact  has been on record as having no reservations for going against the wishes of local communities. “Municipalities will no longer be able to reject wind turbines, solar panels, or bio-fuel plants because they don’t like them. We can’t allow interests to oppose these simply because they don’t like them.”
On the other hand a Hudak government would restore respect for local governments and decision-makers at all levels.

Off to the Races, Ontario PCs Nominate Marilissa Gosselin

Marilissa Gosselin is the latest candidate nominated for the Ontario PCs for the upcoming provincial election. Leader  Tim Hudak is surrounding himself with a strong slate of candidates to oppose the Ontario Liberals in just over fourteen months from now. Hopefully the PC party of Ontario continues on this trend to build a strong team of  leaders that can bring  a much-needed sea change to Queens Park.

The Conservative leader Tim Hudak relies heavily on her to understand the interests of francophones, “said Gosselin.

By the election of October 2011, Ms. Gosselin will go door to door on a regular basis.

Eastern Ontario has not elected candidates PCs since the withdrawal of political Noble Villeneuve, MP for Stormont-Dundas-Glengarry, in 1999. But that does not worry too Gosselin. After all, voters in the area have twice elected Pierre Lemieux, at the federal level.

Ontario Liberal Government Taps Out and Allows UFC into Ontario

Finally the Ontario Liberals have got the sense knocked into them through public pressure and a dose of common sense the UFC is on its way to Ontario. With people jumping for jubilation on hearing the news that mixed martial arts will be heading north of the border. The public should be reminded that Tim Hudak and the Ontario PC party led the way on being the first party to fully support the UFC in Ontario.

As well I would like to think that blogs like this in public pressure had something to do with the government actually for once listening to the people. However in my view this is  just another sign that the Liberals are clearing the deck of contentious issues in time for the 2011 election.
